The Show will boast professionalism and
the criteria laid out for the "Grand Prix Gastronome"
2005 will help to improve awareness and help to attract
future generation in to the hospitality industry.
The 5th Culinary Challenge is for young amateurs and
professionals already in the Hospitality Industry designed
to test their skills and reward them with recognition
and exciting prizes in the value of several thousand
dollars plus each competitor will receive a certificate
and if in the top three, gold, silver or bronze medals
may be awarded .
We all should be striving to improve ourselves, and
what better way than to compete with your colleagues
and peers at the International Food & Wine Festival
in Hamilton.
Contestants will battle against the clock through heats
and finals in their own mini kitchen preparing the meals
from either a magic box of mystery ingredients only
uncovered and seen at the start of each heat or a menu
chosen by the competitors.
The High School Team of the year or entries from various
section of the Hospitality Industry such as waiting,
cocktail making, Barista competition and many more will
be at this magnificent grand prix gastronome.
Judges will reward flair and initiative, working methods,
presentation and the all important taste and accuracy
test.
The team at 2005 International Food & Wine Festival
acknowledges the importance of balance and nutritional
YET APPETISING DIET. Every year young people enter the
Hospitality Industry either directly or through training
centres. These are the people who, in growing number,
prepare, cook, present and serve the vast array of different
food styles we consume daily.
