Aplication Software :
Included in the price is the software required to operate the Robot ® K600 Laser Engraver.
The software allows the use of imported black and white BMP (bitmap) images (which can be generated in any graphics program such as Corel Draw, Paintshop, Photoshop, AutoCAD, etc).
The image (made up of picture and script) can be sized, reversed, mirrored, and the settings for power, engraving depth, speed, and repeats, set.

Metals :
Why are metals not able to be engraved by the Robot ® K600 Laser Engraver ?
The Robot ® K600 Laser Engraver is a CO2 gas laser. The laser produces a wavelength of 10.64µm. This wavelength, like light, is reflected off metals.

YAG Lasers :
Another type of laser called a YAG laser produces a wavelength of 1064nm or 1.064µm. This beam is able to engrave / mark metals, but does not have the burning capacity to engrave softer and non reflective materials, such as those able to be engraved by the CO2 gas laser.
The cheapest YAG laser costs several times a CO2 gas laser. Hi Image enterprises are able to source YAG laser to suit your requirements.

Unfortunately one laser engraver can not engrave all materials the same, just as an ultrasound machine does not do the same type of scans as a catscan.
