Home Brewing Competition

Presenting for the first time

 

The 1st National Competition was held in Fielding 1977 and they are held every two years usually Labour weekend. The 2003 the National competition was hosted by the River City Winemakers & Brewers Club. Wanganui.

This is the first Home Brew Competition in Hamilton in conjunction with the International Food & Wine Festival and the Bavarian Beer Fest from the 13-15 May 2005 .

This competition will be great fun for all the home brewers in Hamilton and the greater Waikato and the North Island.

Rules & Conditions:
ELIGIBILITY: Amateur and home brewer can enter this exiting new competition held in Hamilton.
ENTERING: You must fill out an entry form

Organisers must receive the application form by the 29 April 2005.
When entering your home brew competition it is important to specify which class you intend your beer to be judged in. Beers in similar classes will be judged according to the style outline.
No person will be allowed to inspect an entry form after lodgment with the organisers until the 'judges' awards have been made public.
The organisers may nominate a person or persons to inspect any exhibit to verify that it meets the relevant conditions for the class in which it was exhibited if so requested.

ENTRY SAMPLES
The minimum quantity for entry is 4500ml or 4.5 liters. You are encouraged to send your entry in the container, which you feel best, represents your beer and which best preserves its integrity for judging. Remember the judges are judging the beer on quality not the container it arrives in.

Important: It is the responsibility of each home brewer to forward their entries by a transport method that best suits their product.

Home Brewers submitting kegs or casks must make appropriate arrangements for the return of their empty containers after the competition finishes at their own cost.

Waikato Events Centre Gate 1 Brooklyn Road, Hamilton
Please note - On arrival all packaged beer will be refrigerated unless otherwise requested by the brewer. Entries please label containers with:
Name of Brewer, Address, Phone number, Number of class
